Born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in Pirassununga, in the interior of the State of São Paulo, the guitarist, composer and arranger, with 14 CDs recorded, Ulisses Rocha is one of the most influential guitarists of his generation.

Owner of an unique style,he transits between the Brazilian, classical and of the jazz styles, being recognised by its versatility as a soloist, performing in small groups such as trios, or with to the most important symphonic orchestras of the country.

His discography shows  clearly  the search for the rupture of the borders determined by the tradition of the instrument, experiencing the mixing of the acoustic aspects with electronic resources, merging influences and redimensioning its use.

In his frequent international tours, he takes on the roles of soloist and professor, performing in recitals and master classes in the United States, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, France, Switzerland, Croatia, Lithuania, Syria, Kwait, Japan, Paraguay and Zimbabwe among others.

In addition to his own work, he has participated in concerts and recordings artists such as Al Di Meola, Cesar Camargo Mariano, Eliane Elias, Egberto Gismonti, Hermeto Pascoal, and Gal Costa.

Ulisses was nominated for the Brazilian Press Awards 2016, dedicated to Brazilian artists in the American art scene.

In addition to his work as an artist, he  also works as a professor at the Department of Music at Unicamp, He was a 
a visiting professor at the University of Florida, where he lived for 5 years.
